Maharashtra NEET UG COUNSELLING & ADMISSION 2025

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a 5-year undergraduate degree in Maharashtra, which includes 4 years of academic study followed by a 1-year compulsory rotatory internship. The course focuses on dental and oral healthcare and covers subjects such as oral anatomy, dental materials, oral pathology, periodontology, orthodontics, prosthodontics, and oral & maxillofacial surgery.

Admission to BDS colleges in Maharashtra is based on the NEET-UG examination, followed by centralized counselling conducted by the Maharashtra State CET Cell. Only candidates who qualify NEET-UG are eligible to participate in the counselling process.

Maharashtra has several reputed government, aided, and private dental colleges offering quality clinical exposure and modern infrastructure. After completing BDS, graduates can practice as dentists, pursue higher studies such as MDS, or build careers in hospitals, dental clinics, academic institutions, research, public health services, and corporate dental chains.
